What is Power Factor?
Power factor (pf) is defined as the ratio of the real power (P)
to apparent power (S), or the cosine (for pure sine wave for
both current and voltage) that represents the phase angle

Designing A SEPIC Converter




Introduction

In a SEPIC (Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter) design,
the output voltage can be higher or lower than the input
voltage. The SEPIC converter shown in Figure 1 uses two
inductors, L1 and L2. The two inductors can be wound on the
same core since the same voltages are applied to them
throughout the switching cycle. Using a coupled inductor

Abstract
In this paper, a systematic overview of PLL-based closed-loop control methods for interleaved DCM/CCM boundary boost PFC converters is presented. It is shown that the PLL-based closed-loop methods always provide stable operation, unlike the open-loop control methods, where the only method which results in stable operation is the slave synchronization to the turn-on instant of the master with current-mode control.
