Students Industrial Work Experience scheme is a program designed by the universityto expose students to the practical aspects of his/her course of study. It involves theattachment of a student to an organization in line with his/her respective course of study thatcan provide the training and experience required in the industry, as these experience andtraining cannot be obtained in the lecture rooms but the theoretical knowledge taught inlecture rooms shall be applied by the student in real industrial situations.This training/work experience, is an essential component in the development of the practical and professional skills required of each student by their respective course of studyand also stands as an aid to prospective employment.As a student of architecture, i have been able to obtain
the most relevant and effective practical industrial training and experience in a duration of three months(3 months) having beenexposed to practical on-site situations and activities from S.K.P. international services, a construction company with consultants in Architecture, Engineering and Quantity surveying. The company’s principal areas of operations include building design project management and buildingsupervision.Being
an architectural design and engineering services company with a vision andcommitment to providing bespoke design and construction service using a combination of the mostappropriate technology
ABSTRACTAitek Networks Systems Limited is one of the very few indigeneous companies that is well established in the aspect of electronics engineering referred to as Surveillance or better still Extra Low Voltage. The company is staffed with hardworking, resilient, intelligent and hospitable personnels .
The sale and installation of various security devices are carried out by experts at Aitek Network Systems Limited. Devices like the smoke detectors, satellite televisions, cctv, camera, motion detectors, fire alarm systems, network systems to mention a few are sold and installed by capable engineers and technicians.
However, there is the administrative section consisting of the secretary, receptionist, cleaners, drivers, personal assistant and the managing director. All other staffs are transported to the site to ensure services are procured to customers.
INTRODUCTIONA great deal of knowledge and tremendous skills related to electrical/electronics engineering was imbibed on me during the few weeks of rigorous training I went through at Aitek Networks Systems Limited in Lagos. An enormous amount of physical and intellectual strength is required to survive on site at the engineering firm. Almost all the installation processes involves a great deal of cabling that is running of cable through trunkings, pvc pipes or ebonite tubes. Also, cables are run through manholes from metal boxes or adaptable boxes.
The basic tools often used are the fishing tapes, draw ropes, drillings machines, screws, screwdrivers, mallet, chisel, cables, connectors, masking tapes, multimeter, cutter to mention a few.
As we all know, our society is in jeopardy as far as security is concerned, this calls for the installation of security systems by experts.
Systems such as the fire alarm systems, cameras, motion detectors, smoke and heat detectors etc serve to reduce if not to completely eliminate impending hazards This report treats in details some other systems such as the network system (LAN) and so on.
