It was in Wales on February 21st 1804, the worldâ„¢s very first the steam engine was introduced by Richard Trevithick. The speed of the first steam locomotive was just 8 km/h (5 mph). Inventions followed and by the year 1815, George Stephenson developed the first workable steam locomotive. In 1825, exactly after 21 years of the one of the worldâ„¢s most powerful and revolutionary inventions in transportation, the worldâ„¢s first passenger train was born. Developed by George Stephenson, the locomotive ran at a speed of 25 km/h (16 mp ....etc

HIGH SPEED TRAINS
1. INTRODUCTION
When English inventor Richard Trevithick introduced the steam locomotive on 21 February 1804 in Wales, it achieved a speed of 8 km/h (5 mph). In 1815, Englishman George Stephenson built the world's first workable steam locomotive. In 1825, he introduced the first passenger train, which steamed along at 25 km/h (16 mph). Today, trains can fly down the tracks at 500 km/h (311 mph). And fly they do, not touching the tracks.
There is no defined speed at which you can call a train a high spee ....etc

Ever since the discovery of the wheel, man has been in constant pursuit to achieve better and faster means of transportation. The FLYING TRAINS that is the MAGLEV (magnetic levitation) trains is the realization of such zestful endeavors. These ultra high-speed trains are acting as an indisposable resource to make the world smaller. Maglev is a generic term for a family of technologies in which a vehicle is suspended, guided and propelled by magnetic forces. Due to its need for an entirely new infrastructure, maglev technology has had a prolong ....etc

ABSTRACT
There are many railway crossings which are unmanned due to lack of man power needed to fulfill the demands. Hence many accidents occur at such crossings since there is no one to take care of the functioning of the railway gate when a train approaches the crossing. This project is a step towards improving the status of such unmanned railway crossings. Here, the railway gate is closed automatically as train approaches the crossing and automatically the gate is opened after the train has crossed. Here the ....etc
