Novel shape memory effect (SME) and pseudoelastic behavior are discovered in single-crystalline Au, Cu, and Ni nanowires with lateral dimensions of 1.5-10 nm. Under tensile loading and unloading, these wires can recover elongations of up to 50%, well beyond the recoverable strains of 5-8% typical for most bulk shape memory alloys (SMAs). The aim of this study is to propose simple and reliable techniques to assess the condition of metal oxide arrester based on the dielectric response techniques. A number of modern electrical diagnostics for Metal Oxide Surge Arrester (MOSA) are discussed in this paper. Babbitt metal,
also called white metal, is an alloy used to provide the bearing surface in a plain bearing. It was invented in 1839 by Isaac Babbitt in Taunton, Massachusetts, USA. The term is used today to describe a series of alloys used as a bearing metal. Babbit metal is characterized by its resistance to gall.

Common compositions for Babbitt alloys:

* 90% tin 10% copper
* 89% tin 7% antimony 4% copper
* 80% lead 15% antimony 5% tin
