ATMega16 AVR designing and implementing a digital clock with the help of an Atmel AVR microcontroller ATMega16 and seven-segment displays. As such before going through this AVR digital clock project, it is recommended to complete the tutorial on Interfacing a seven segment display with the AVR microcontroller.


The following figure shows the circuit diagram of the seven-segment ATmega16 digital clock. A feature to keep in mind is that all seven-segment displays are driven by the same port (PortB). The microcontroller through the PortC controls indicate in which segment of seven segments each digit is displayed. Note that these seven segment displays are common cathode display.
