Abstract
Virtual switching panel is a virtual replica of an actual switching panel. Using this virtual panel switching of main panel is controlled. In this basically an interface ( the virtual panel ) for the user to give an input to the system i.e. the selection of a switch. This selection is detected using image processing. And the input is further transferred to the next stage that is the processing stage. Processing stage takes he user input and then processes it and provides the necessary signal to the switch which the uses intends to operate. This stage uses embedded system for the processing.
1: Introduction
1.1 Description:
Virtual switching panel is a virtual replica of an actual switching panel. Using this virtual panel switching of main panel is controlled.
The whole project is divided in two main parts:
1. User end:
This is basically an interface (the virtual panel) for the user to give an input to the system i.e. the selection of a switch. This selection is detected using image processing. And the input is further transferred to the next stage that is the processing stage.
2. Processing:
This stage takes the user input and then processes it and provides the necessary signal to the switch which the uses intends to operate. This stage uses embedded system for the processing.
1.2 Hardware:
The finger having a fingernail illuminated by IR light, enclosed in Hand Gloves comprises a small Circuitry. An IR Camera (or webcam with IR filter) is used for measuring the change in IR light reflected from the panel surface. Other components include Microcontroller 8051, IR Transmitter-Receiver, Power Supply and relays etc.
