The RPM meter we are going to do is a less contact type, that is, it measures the RPM of a rotating object without actually making any contact with it. An infrared reflectance sensor will be used to detect the speed. You have to place a white reflective object (such as a white paper adhesive) at a point on the periphery of the rotation. Then you need to place the reflectance sensor such that the white reflector comes right up on it once per rotation. In this way the sensor will give a descending edge to the MCU by rotation, we will measure the number of such a pulse in one second to obtain the revolution per second, multiplying this by 60 we obtain RPM.

Object counters are widely used devices. They are used in different places for different purposes and different uses. They can be used as visitor counter, material counter / vehicle counter product, etc. Here are some of the examples where object counters are used.

· In LIFT to count and display the number of people inside the elevator at any given time

· In any large supermarket or shopping centers as a visitor counter, to keep track of the number of visitors who have visited the Mall

· On the conveyor belt of the industry to count the number of objects passed

· In the vehicle parking lot to count and display the number of vehicles in the parking lot

Therefore, the application areas are varied where object counters are used.

The object counter consists of sensor, counter and screen.

· The sensor detects any object passing in front of it and gives the output pulse to the counter

· The increment counters count by one when you receive the pulse input from the sensor

· The current account is displayed on any type of display, such as the 7-segment display or LCD

The circuit presented here detects the object as it passes in front of it. The sensor uses an emitter and IR detector that detects the reflected IR light (of the object) and gives the output pulse. This pulse is counted and displayed on the 7-segment display or on an LCD screen.
