A LaMont boiler is a type of forced circulation water pipe boiler in which the boiler water is circulated through an external pump through long tubes, very separate and of small diameter. The mechanical pump is used to have an adequate and positive circulation in steam and hot water boilers.
Lamont Caldera:
Beginning:
This boiler works on the basic principle of forced convection. If the water flows through a pump inside the tube, the rate of transfer of heat from the gas to the water increases. It is the basic principle of it.
Building:
This boiler is the first boiler of circulation of force. This boiler consists of several parts which are as follows.
Economizer:
Use the economizer to preheat the water using the remaining heat from the combustion gases. Increases boiler efficiency. The feed water is supplied first to the economizer before entering the boiler.
Centrifugal pump:
The Lamont boiler is a power convection boiler. So a centrifugal pump is used to circulate the water inside the boiler. This pump is driven by a steam turbine. The steam for the turbine is taken by the boiler.
Evaporator tube:
The evaporator tube or can say that the water pipes are located on the wall of the furnace which increase the heating surface of the boiler. This is also on the top and bottom side of the oven and other equipment. The main function of these tubes to evaporate the water in steam. This also cools the oven wall.
Grate:
The space in the furnace where the fuel is burned is called a grid. It's bottom of the oven.
Oven:
In the Lamont boiler the vertical oven is used. The main function of the oven is to burn the fuel.
Super heater:
The vapor generated by the evaporator tube is saturated vapor. If used directly on the steam turbine can cause corrosion. So the saturated steam sends to the super heater where it can increase the temperature of the steam.
Water vapor separator drum:
The steam separator is located outside the boiler. The mixture of water and steam from the evaporator tube sends the vapor separator where it separates the vapor and sends it to the super heater. The remaining water again sends to the economizer.
