Traffic light control Simple electronic project
(Traffic light control project using the 4017 IC 555 timer and counter)
introduction
Traffic lights are used to control traffic. In the modern era, everyone has different types of vehicles as a result of the installation of vehicle numbers. That's why traffic lights are required to avoid traffic jams and accidents. There are three lights at traffic lights with different message for drivers. Red light (top) requested the driver to give the green light to (last) enables a free license for the Office through the intersection while the yellow light (medium) warns the driver to wait, if a red light one or get ready to go on/off the engine is on, if the green light next to it.
The traffic light turned out to be an amazing way to stop an automobile collision and traffic control in today's modern age where everyone owns a different vehicle types.
Project proposal:
As we all know, the project name is "traffic light management." the main idea of this simple electronic project to control traffic. It can be used to avoid car collisions and traffic jams. This project is only a one-way traffic, although it can be further modified as well. The project will work in a certain sense, it provides instruction to the driver whether to go through the intersection of or access to a roundabout.
Control display:
There are three light bulbs or control signals, which will provide instructions for the driver.
Red-indicates that the driver will stop at the intersection.
Yellow light-instructs the driver to wait (If red light around) or Get Ready (if green light around)
Green light-indicates the driver to pass through the intersection.
Components Of The Requirements:
There are quite a few features that we use to make our traffic light control system. Below is a list of components.
9V battery (battery sign)
100 k, 22 k, and 330 Ohm resistors
1 μf, 10 μf to 2.2 mF capacitors
Six 1N4148 diodes
555 timer IC (as a pulse generator)
4017 counter IC (main IC circuit)
1 Potentiometer (controls the timing pulse generated by a 555 timer)
Red, yellow and green LEDs. (Exit)
Working principle:
This signal is produced through the IC, which is mainly used for Sequential Circuits. We can also call it as consecutive traffic lights. Sequential Circuits are used to count the number in the series.
Approaching the principle of traffic lights, the main IC 4017 counter IC used to glow red, yellow and green respectively. 555 timer operates as a pulse generator, providing input to the 4017 counter IC. Time the glow of lights totally depends on pulse timer 555, which we can control with a potentiometer, so if you want to change time light effect, you can do this by changing a potentiometer, is responsible for providing timing. LEDs are not directly related to the 4017 counter because the lights would not be stable. We used a combination of 1N4148 diodes and LEDs to get the appropriate output. The main disadvantage of this scheme is that you can never have an exact synchronization with this, but you will have better appreciated.
