The magnitude of the electrostatic force of the interaction between two point charges is directly proportional to the scalar multiplication of the magnitudes of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. The force is along the straight line that unites them. If the two charges have the same sign, the electrostatic force between them is repulsive; If they have different signs, the force between them is attractive.

The Coulomb Law Kit is designed to investigate the electrostatic force between charged marrow balls in a protected environment within a black box. Marrow balls can be loaded using an electrophore, perspex bar or acetate strips. The box contains the window to see the interactions, the scale to take measurements and the mounted mirror to allow accurate readings.
