Petrol pumps have a microcontroller to control the electric pump, drive the screen, measure the flow and consequently deactivate the electric pump. But still a person is required to collect the money. In general, a smart card is an integrated circuit board with memory capable of making decisions. A smart card, chip card or ICC is defined as any pocket card with integrated circuits that can process the information. This implies that it can receive input that is processed through the ICC applications and delivered as an output. A smart contact card where the information inside the card communicates with the card reader by inserting the card into the card reader. The card reader used in this project is a SRK-90 SDK of 1 KB memory size.
The smart card reader contains a PIC microcontroller 16F73, a voltage regulator, serial cable connections and an LED that lights every time a card is inserted into the reader and also illuminates when it emits any command or receives any command. The Smart Card Reader is interconnected with the microcontroller through the serial interface.
In this system, all drivers have a smart card called the same as a petrocard. This card can be recharged by some recharge points. The petrol pump is equipped with a smart card / write reader. At the gas pump, the driver swaps the card and the smart card reader reads the amount on the card and displays it on the LCD. The driver then enters the amount of gasoline to be filled with a keyboard. The corresponding amount is calculated and deducted from your petrocard. The electric pump turns on according to the amount entered, fills the tank and shuts off automatically.
