Design and size recommendations

The goal in designing the flange coupling is designed to optimize the number and size of bolts for flange couplings and flange dimensions. The number of bolts must be at least six.
Soles-supergrip bolt designed for maximum voltage shift of 280 n/mm2 and a maximum axial voltage of 350 n/mm2.
Design of torque

Number of soles-Supergrip bolts
Start by assuming the size of the bolt, then determine the pitch circle diameter (E) as follows:
E = d3 + DD + 10 [mm]............. (2)
Calculate the maximum shearing force of each bolt for bolt size selected
K1 = 280 (π d12)/4 [N]............. (3)
Soles-Supergrip bolts then determines the number of
N1 = TD2000/(E (K1 + K2 b1 0.15))............. (4)
If the number of soles-Supergrip bolts smaller than six, then smaller bolt and repeat the calculation.
Outer flange diameter
Outer flange diameter is determined from the
D1 = E + 1.6 d1............. (5)
Flange material factor
Because of the contact stresses in flange, when the connection is in use, the flange material must be considered (Figure 2).
System Combination
In the case of a combination of soles-Supergrip is used, for example, when you upgrade, the number of soles-Supergrip bolts and anchor bolts are as follows.
Design of torque shall be determined in accordance with the formula (1)
Select the size of the bolt soles-Supergrip and determine the pitch diameter according to the formula (2). the number of connecting bolts must be a multiple of the soles-Supergrip bolts (1, 2, 3 .....).
Select the appropriate number of soles-Supergrip bolts N1, which shall not be less than three.
Calculation of torque transferred soles-Supergrip bolts
TS = n1 E (K1 + K2 b1 0.15)/2000 [NM]............. (6)
Determine the torque required for tie-bolts
TT = TD-TS [Nm]............. (7)
P2 then calculated the number of connecting bolts
