In 2004, LGEIL also upgraded its second Greenfield manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, which begins operations in October 2004. Covering over 50 acres, LGEIL manufactures LCD TVs, GSM phones, colour televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and monitors colour. Both Indian manufacturing units have been designed with the latest technologies in line with international standards in South Korea and are one of the greenest units among all LG manufacturing plants in the world. LG has been able to design in ten years a premium brand positioning in the Indian market and is today the most preferred brand in the segment.
