Training and employee development has become increasingly important today, as jobs have become more complicated and influenced by technological changes. In today's competitive world, the struggle for change, development and retention of talent is critical for all organizations around the world. Organizational effectiveness depended on the effectiveness of training and development. Needs assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of training are increasingly recognized as an input to create competitive advantage for all organizations. This research work is an effort to ascertain the effectiveness of training and development at BSNL (Navi Mumbai). The purpose of the research was to find out how effectively the training programs are planned and planned and to meet individual and organizational requirements. The research design is descriptive. The database has been framed from a sample of 45 employees from a total population of 150. A convenient sampling technique has been used. Primary data were collected through survey and personal interview. Secondary data have been collected through reports provided by the human resources department. Chi-square has been used to evaluate two types of comparison: goodness-of-fit tests and independence tests. The results of the research reveal that although training programs at BSNL are well planned and excellent, but training evaluation is not effective.
