This device is based on the idea of electro-stimulation for sensory substitution, the process in which if a part of the brain is damaged, then the part of the brain that normally controls the damaged part learns to perform some other function. The device is still under investigation and has not been commercially released, but the results obtained after testing the device on blind people were astounding and have indicated that there is a wide scope of application for this technology in the future
