In the fiscal year 2015-16 the company has recorded the largest start-up of projects in its history. The greater focus on project execution has led BHEL to create a history by setting up / synchronizing a maximum of 15,059 MW of power throughout the year. This includes the highest power generation capacity in history, from 13,061 MW to the utilities segment of India, a quantum leap of 59% over the previous year. With this, BHEL has already reached 94% of the goal of capacity increase for Plan XII in the first 4 years. 55% of the supercritical assemblies commissioned in the country are contributed by BHEL, a testimony of their valuable contribution to the construction of the nation. BHEL also has an overseas presence in 80 countries with accumulated installed capacity abroad of the power plants manufactured by BHEL near 10,000 MW including Belarus, Bhutan, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Rwanda, Sudan, Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.

The high level of quality and reliability of BHEL products is due to adherence to international standards through the acquisition and adaptation of some of the best technologies of leading companies in the world, including General Electric Company, Alstom SA, Siemens AG and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. With technologies developed in its own R & D centers. Most of its manufacturing units and other entities have been accredited to Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001: 2008), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001: 2004) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS 18001: 2007).

The biggest strength of BHEL is its highly qualified and committed workforce of about 42,200 employees who have been the cornerstone of BHEL's journey that ensures success.
