INTRODUCTION

Access Control is an electronic security system which permits or restricts access to specific areas of a premises. It not only protects property against unwanted visitors but ensures the safety of both the property and of the people inside.

In simple terms, an Access Control System provides control of entry (or exit) through nominated doors via a control panel and some form of electric locking facility.

An Access Control System can be as simple or as complicated as you wish but in each case, the solution will always provide an easy passage for permitted persons around the building.

Door Entry or Access Control

Door entry is commonly associated with a single door or gate, whereas access control is more suited to multiple doors or entry points.
Access Control can also incorporate a host of other features which enhance other areas of the business.
Access Control / Door Entry Technology

PIN Code Entry

The most common unit is the keypad system. This comprises a control unit with a series of numbered push buttons, or a touch-sensitive pad, connected to the lock release mechanism via a control unit located at the entrance.

Magstripe (also called Swipe Card) Readers

Each entry point has a card reader and the user “swipes” an encoded card similar to a credit card to gain entry.
This technology is widely used and there are many choices of manufacturers

Proximity Readers

Rather than swiping the card or tag, it is simply presented to a reader which typically will see the card at a distance of about 100mm. This is a fast, non-contact, method of entry.
Long Range Readers

Long range proximity readers (of approximately a meter or so) automatically unlock or open a door when it detects the card.
This is particularly suitable for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) as no action is required by the card bearer.

Smartcard Readers

For systems that use cards or tags, these cards can also carry additional information which can be used for other building services – - for example, time and attendance functions, integration with payroll systems, car park management and even vending machine applications.

Biometric Readers

A Biometric Reader system uses unique human characteristics – such as finger prints or a retina scan – to clearly identify those who are permitted access.
As there are no cards or tags which can be stolen or lost, or open to misuse, this type of system significantly increases the level of security.

AREA OF APPLICATION

Automatic door mechanism is applicable in the following areas :
Industries
Shopping centers
Companies
Hospitals
Airports
BLOCK DIAGRAM
POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

We are using the power supply 5amp 24v . This power supply is used in Wiper motor , PLC . In this power supply we used LM-338 metal IC . This used IC to control and vary the voltage .

Passive Infrared Switch

LC-780 series is a wide angle passive infrared Sen Switch designed to control indoor or outdoor lighting by sensing the presence of human body. Its unique mechanism design make it able to be mounted on the wall or ceiling. The adjustable sensor head provides easy mounting site selection and optimum detection adjustment. LUX and TIME controls are adjustable.
The LC-780 is for general light control with less than 10 Amp load switching. The LC-780HD is for heavier lead up to 16 Amp load switching. The LC-780LV is a special model with low voltage power supply to switch the load up to 10 Amp.

DEDECTION PATTERN

Specification
Power supply........As unit rated
Maximum load ......LC-780 : 10A resistive
..............................LC-780HD : 16A resistive
..............................LC-780LV : 10A resistive
Detection angle.....150° wide
Detection range ....18 meter (60 ft) at 25°C
Detection speed ...0.15 ~ 3 m/sec.
Mounting height....1.8 ~ 3.0 m
Delay time.............8 seconds ~ 8 minutes (approx.)
Lux range..............2 ~ 2000 lux (approx.)
Sensor head tilt.....80° vertical
Protection rate ......IP54
Op. temperature ...-20°C~50°C (-4°F ~122°F)
Dimensions...........125 x 105 x 62 mm
Time adjustment
TIME trimmer controls shut-off delay time after the
last motion is detected. Delay time ranges from 8
seconds (-) to 8 minutes (+).
Lux adjustment

LUX trimmer determines the operation of SenSwitch by sensing the ambient light level. It is set originally at right end position (+ ) for convenience of test in daytime. After test completed, adjust LUX trimmer to left end position (- ) will enable SenSwitch only operate at certain darkness of the ambient environment to avoid unnecessary lighting. To set individual preferred darkness for SenSwitch to operate, rotate the trimmer clockwise from left end position real slowly when the ambient light level is preferred, stop rotating once the light comes on.

Door mechanism

In this mechanism we are using two pulleys .
One pulley is connected to the wiper motor shaft . Two pulleys are connected to the belt. In this figure we fixed the clamp on the upside of belt and another clamp is fixed in the downside of the belt .These two clamps are connected to the door . When the motor rotate in forward direction that time the door will open and when the motor rotate in reverse direction the door will close.

WORKING

When any human is entering on the way to door at a certain distance the SENSOR will sense and output is given to plc according to the program the door will open.
When the person will gone out of the sensing range the door will close
When we don’t want any one to enter through that time we can lock door using number lock
