Design and Testing of Superconducting Microwave Passive Components for Quantum Information Processing
Abstract
We report on the design, fabrication and testing of
two superconducting passive microwave components, a quadrature
hybrid and a 20 dB directional coupler. These components
are designed to be integrated with superconducting qubits or
Josephson parametric amplifiers and used in quantum information

I'd like to explore the material known as Wellstone. There are some interesting aspects to this material, and it is written about in Hacking Matter by Will McCarthy. It is not necessarily nanotechnology, so much as it is quantum level materials and bio-molecular control over nano sized or meso-sized particles.

A SQUID (for superconducting quantum interference device) is a very sen
isitive magnetometer used to measure extremely weak magnetic fields, based on superconducting loops containing Josephson junctions.
SQUIDs are sensitive enough to measure fields as low as 5 aT (5×10−18 T) within a few days of averaged measurements. Their noise levels are as low as 3fT•Hz-½. For comparison, a typical refrigerator magnet produces 0.01 tesla (10−2 T), and some processes in animals produce very small magne ....etc
