This system uses RF transmission technology. The RF transceiver module which I use has a range up to 100 metres in ideal conditions. This module can transmit and receive 4-bit parallel data with or without 8 address bits using a specific encoder and decoder ICâ„¢s. Another module can be designed such that it can transmit and receive 8-bit parallel data with or without 10 address bits using a specific encoder and decoder ICâ„¢s. The advantage of having the address bits is that message transfer can be made secure.

The idea to create a type of close proximity radar system came from a student in one of my classes. We went ahead and decided to streamline the idea into the course as one of the projects we'd build.
