UWB Short-Range Bifocusing Tomographic Imaging
#1

Tomographic imaging of electrically large objects in 2-D and 3-D environments using ultra-wideband (UWB) sensor arrays is described. Object cross-section electric properties is the most difficult part to model.Different industrial, medical, and security applications use microwave signals to penetrate and sense light opaque materials with reasonable spatial resolution.Increased level of spatial resolution and materialelectrical parameter measurement accuracy of Wideband signals, such as those produced with ultra-wideband (UWB) systems makes it attractive.Tomography-based techniques, on the other hand, tend to be formulated in the frequency domain. In the case of high-contrast electrically extended objects suffer from lack of accuracy especially, the non linearity. The resonance character of the reconstruction and the degree of nonlinearity can be minimized using a temporal impulse.UWB incident transmitted
field and the corresponding scattered-received field is focussed on every “pixel” of the reconstructed scenario by a UWB multifrequency bifocussing (UWB MFBF)imaging technique.Resonant-free reconstructions can be obtained using wide frequency band character of incident wave.
