The aim of the project was to develop an Intranet web based mail client system connecting to a Linux server running a mail server and with Apache as the web server. The aim was to implement the necessary functionalities to the users such as receiving and organizing mails through IMAP and Sending mails using send mail. In the present scenario when Telephony systems are moving to a common wiring plant the end station of a LAN or IP- based PBX must be simple to use, familiar and relatively cheap.
