A new operational mode for diode-clamped multilevel inverters termed quasi two-level operation is proposed. This paper highlights some effects of an asymmetrical design on three phase multilevel inverters from a supply network point of view. The investigated topology is based on a series connection of single phase inverters (partial cell) in each phase. In this paper, the method of triangular carrier
switching control of two-level inverters is extended to cascaded
multilevel inverters using phase-shifted multicarrier unipolar
pulsewidth modulation (PWM). The condition for smooth modulation
