Steel Company Modernization Project Report

This is a Project Report of one month Summer Training Program held in a Steel Company which undergoes Modernization bcoz of the old age of existing plant.
Modernization consists of building a totally new plant to increase the production to 2.5 mtpa previously which is less than 1 mtpa.
In Modernization 15 different construction company of India and 3 companies from foreign involved with 0ne consultant company to built theses:-

The case study project is significant since mild steel is used in structure, case hardening, gears, free cutting steels, shafting, forging etc. Mild steel plates were tested for mechanical properties like hardness, tensile strength, yield point etc. Later on the plates were joined by submerged arc welding and the mechanical properties were estimated again. Generally their behaviour is considered satisfactory if they withstand two million cycle of repetitive loading without distress or failure at that required mean stress level and range stress.
The recent research in reinforcing Portland cement based material with randomly distributed fibres was spurred by pioneering research or fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) conducted in the United state in the 1960s.The addition of fibre in the co ....etc
