CONTINUOUSLY REINFORCED CONCRETE PAVEMENT as the title suggests this type of pavement is reinforced throughout in longitudinal direction. This type of pavement has no transverse joints unless and until there is end of pavement or the pavement comes in contact with some other pavement or bridge. A longitudinal joint exists only if the road is wider than 14 feet. Due to reduction of joints smooth and continuous riding is possible resulting in fuel saving. Also CRCP roads are maintenance free if properly constructed and care is taken while placeme ....etc

Reinforced soil is composite material which is formed by the associating of frictional soil and tension resistant elements in the form of sheets, strips, nets or mats of metal, synthetic fabrics or fibre reinforced plastics and arranged in the soil mass in such a way as to reduce or supress the tensile strain which night develop under gravity and boundary forces. It is well known that most granwar soils are strong in compression and shear and weak in tension. The performance of such soils can be improved by introducing reinforcing elements in t ....etc

FIBRE-REINFORCED FLY ASH SUB-BASES IN RURAL ROADS

SUB-BASE COURSES AND THEIR EVALUATION

SUB-BASE IS MADE OF BROKEN STONES,BOUND OR UNBOUND AGGREGATE

SUB-BASE COURSE PRIMARILY HAS THE SIMILAR FUNCTION AS OF THE BASE COURSE AND PROVIDED WITH INFERIOR MATERIALS THAN OF BASE COURSE

THE FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE OF SUB “BASE IS TO PROVIDE A STRESS TRANSMITTING MEDIUM TO SPREAD THE SURFACE WHEEL LOADS IN SUCH A MANNER TO PREVENT SHEAR AND CONSOLIDATION DEFORMATIONS

Abstract
An earthquake resistant high strength material has been sought. It was concluded that the interface layers of fibrous materials increased the compressive strength and a certain geometrical shape of these layer materials gave the best results. The mix proposed satis?es the minimum compressive strength requirements of ASTM and Turkish Standards.

The materials used in this study for ?bre reinforced mud brick production were clay as main matrix; cement, basaltic pumice, lime and gypsum as stabilisers; straw, plastic Fibres and ....etc
