The Lan Messenger application, by which users can chat and send files to each other on a local area net work. The application is developed in java using Net beans IDE. The application consists of two parts, a client and a server. Each user will be identified by a username.

Abstract
This is a LAN Messenger designed to function in a heterogeneous network containing mainly machine running on windows-based and Linux-based machines on which the Java Virtual Machine( JVM) is running. The main reason for taking up such a project was the lack of a simple LAN Messenger which works in a heterogeneous network. The obvious choice of the programming language was JAVA in which the compiled byte codes can be interpreted on any machine running the JVM. Simple network messenger

Abstract

This project, Simple network messenger is a Simple messenger in your local area network. If at least two computers have running this there are possible to chat.This application software Uses UDP Protocol to interact with the clients. The main task of this application is to check the status of client and interact with them.

QUICK MESSENGER-A CHAT LINE APPLICATION

Introduction
The Quick messenger is a simulation of the instant messenger which has been established within a LAN. The messaging partners can interact in a synchronous fashion via the instant messaging. The correspondense can occur instantly, with the text reaching the other end as soon as the enter key is pressed in the sending end. an easy to use and a rich graphical user interface is also implemented for the project.
