Abstract

This project, Simple network messenger is a Simple messenger in your local area network. If at least two computers have running this there are possible to chat.This application software Uses UDP Protocol to interact with the clients. The main task of this application is to check the status of client and interact with them.

The Lan Messenger application, by which users can chat and send files to each other on a local area net work. The application is developed in java using Net beans IDE. The application consists of two parts, a client and a server. Each user will be identified by a username.

QUICK MESSENGER-A CHAT LINE APPLICATION

Introduction
The Quick messenger is a simulation of the instant messenger which has been established within a LAN. The messaging partners can interact in a synchronous fashion via the instant messaging. This is a LAN Messenger designed to function in a heterogeneous network containing mainly machine running on windows-based and Linux-based machines on which the Java Virtual Machine( JVM) is running. The main reason for taking up such a project was the lack of a simple LAN Messenger which works in a heterogeneous network.
