There is a need to select the 'first step up' modulation scheme for higher data rate frequency hopping systems. This is seen as one step in a longer journey where considerably higher data rates are used. Frequency modulation


The fi rst public broadcast radio services introduced in the 1920s were in
the long-wave (LW) and then medium-wave (MW) band, using amplitude
modulation (AM) and limited by the technology of the time. Historically,
long- and medium-wave AM broadcasting has used restricted bandwidth,
approximately 4 kHz, which allows intelligible speech but is not very good
for music broadcasting, since music signals are typically 14–20 kHz in bandwidth.

Introduction
The basic Frequency Modulation communications system has:
1) Transmitter, which is the sub-system that takes the information signal and processes it prior to transmission. The transmitter modulates the information onto a carrier signal and broadcasts it over the channel
2) Channel: The medium which transports the modulated signal to the receiver. In this project, LED will be connected to FM transmitter end. Signals then will be picked up by the Photo Detector diode right before the FM Receiver

sinusoidal carrier is changed in direct proportion to the instantaneous
amplitude of the baseband signal. The carrier itself can be
