Transforms that maps integers to integers have advantagesnot available for floating point transforms. Integercomputations are faster and free from round off errors(integer transforms are widely used for lossless coding). The FFT reduces the computation required in determining the Fourier Transform, which is used in several applications in science and engineering, including signal processing computations and spectral analysis.
