ABSTRACT
This project presents the optimal design of a health monitoring device worn during exercise--the
body heart rate monitor. The product provides the time and duration of exercise session, heart
rate of user, and calories burned during the session. The primary target market includes fitness
enthusiasts, professional and armature runners and cyclists, and heart patients.
The objective from an engineering viewpoint was to minimize overall size and weight, resulting

Heart Rate Monitor
Abstract
The aim of this project is to implement an ECG and Digital Heart Rate counter. amplifying
the desired weak signal from the heart and isolating this from the noise signal from the
muscles were the main challenges. A display of the heart rate will also be implemented.The
time between signal peaks will be calculated and then the frequency of the peaks will be
obtained. Attempt is made to make the device portable. low cost amplifier and filter
