The subject of this work is image compression with fractals. Today JPEG has become an industrial standard in image compression. Further researches are held in two areas, wavelet based compression and fractal image compression. Before going to processing an image, it is converted into a digital form. Digitization includes sampling of image and quantization of sampled values.
