TCP-Aware Channel Allocation in CDMA Networks-IEEE Jan. 2009

Abstract

explores the use of rate adaptation in cellular networks to maximize throughput long-lived TCP sessions. We focus on the problem of maximizing the throughput of TCP connections and propose a joint optimization of MAC and physical layer parameters with respect to TCP sending rate. In particular, propose a simple TCP-aware channel scheduler that adapts the wireless channel rate to changes in the TCP sending rate and explore its performance for both single and multiple co..............etc

Most of us know of TCP/IP as the glue that binds the Internet. But not as many can offer a cogent description of what it is and how it works. So what is TCP/IP, really?
TCP/IP is a means for networked computers to communicate with each other. It doesnâ„¢t matter whether they are part of the same network or are attached to separate networks. It doesnâ„¢t matter if one computer is a Cray and the other a Macintosh. TCP/IP is a platform-independent standard that bridges the gap between dissimilar computers, operating systems, and networks...............etc

TCP/IP protocol suite which was written twenty four years ago has many security problems in it, like TCP sequence number prediction, and denial-of-service attack using syn flood attack, routing information protocol attacks, trivial attacks etc. These loopholes in the TCP/IP cause many security attacks. In this seminar I will discuss some of these security attacks in detail...............etc

Differentiated Bandwidth Allocation with TCP Protection in Core Routers

Abstract

Differentiated Services (DiffServ) networks categorize routers into edge routers and core routers. In core routers, one of the technological challenges is how to implement differentiated bandwidth allocation and TCP protection together with low complexity. We present an Active Queue Management (AQM) scheme called CHOKeW. A method is borrowed from a previous scheme, CHOKe, which draws a packet at random from the buffer, compares it with the arriving packet, a..............etc

A New TCP For Persistent Packet Reordering

Abstract”Most standard implementations of TCP perform poorly when packets are reordered. In this paper, we propose new version of TCP that maintains high throughput when reordering occurs and yet, when packet reordering does not occur, is friendly to other versions of TCP. The proposed TCP variant, or TCP-PR, does not rely on duplicate acknowledgments to detect packet loss. Instead, timers are maintained to keep track of how long ago a packet was transmitted. In case the..............etc

TCP/IP is a set of protocols developed to allow cooperating computers to share resources across a network. It was developed by a community of researchers centered around the ARPAnet. Certainly the ARPAnet is the best-known TCP/IP network. However as of June, 87, at least 130 different vendors had products that support TCP/IP, and thousands of networks of all kinds use it.

The most accurate name for the set of protocols we are describing is the Internet protocol suite. TCP and IP are two of the protocols in this suite. (They will be descri..............etc
