Overview

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels, which result from defects in insulin secretion, or action, or both.

Diabetes mellitus, commonly referred to as diabetes, means sweet urine. Elevated levels of blood glucose (hyperglycemia) lead to spillage of glucose into the urine, hence the term sweet urine.

Normally, blood glucose levels are tightly controlled by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas. Insulin lowers the blood glucose level. When the blood glucose elevates ..............etc

Diabetes (Diabetes Mellitus) is a severe, life-threatening condition in which the body loses its ability to turn glucose (sugar) from food into usable energy. It is sometimes, mistakenly, called Sugar Diabetes.

Muscle cells and other tissues in the body require specific levels of glucose and carbohydrates to maintain their function. The amount of glucose absorbed into the bloodstream, and the method by which glucose enters the body's cells ..............etc

INSULIN

Insulin is a peptide hormone composed of 51 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 5808 Da.

It is produced in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. The name comes from the Latin insula for island.

Insulin is produced and stored in the body as a hexamer (a unit of six insulin molecules), while the active form is the monomer.

First isolated from the pancreas in 1922 by Banting and Best, to treat diabetes.

Historically, insul..............etc

abstract
In the mechanized everyday life people donâ„¢t even find time to continuously monitor their health. Especially people with diseases like diabetes and blood pressure are in utmost compulsion to check their body condition frequently. Nowadays patients with diabetes must take small blood samples many times a day to control their glucose levels. Such procedures are uncomfortable and extremely inconvenient. To solve this problem, the level of sugar in the body can be observed via constant glucose monitoring using medical nanorob..............etc
