Design and Development of a Dual Fuel Diesel-LPG Controller
Abstract
Towards the effort of reducing pollutant emissions from direct injection (DI) Diesel engines. The use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as an alternative fuel is a promising solution. After scrutinizing the results, a Dual fuel Diesel-LPG Controller was developed for optimizing the performance on different loads (20% to 120%) without making any modifications in the engine design.

The LPG Gas Sensor Module is designed to enable LPG detection interface to Microcontroller without ADC Channels. It allows to determine when a preset LPG gas level has been reached or exceeded. Interfacing with the sensor module is done through a 4-pin SIP header and requires One I/O pin from the host microcontroller. This project is designed to monitor the LPG leakage or smoke and active the siren and auto dialer using ARM based microcontroller. LPG sensor is used to sense the leakage. A buzzer is provided to alert the user in abnormal condition.

An attempt has been made in this project to use alternative fuel in two stroke Gasoline engine. Our fore most aim in selecting this project is to use non conventional fuel against conventional fuel which is becoming scarce and costly now days. With this air is less polluted than conventional fuels. It is also good with regard to economical considerations.

ABSTRACT
Ideal gas sensor is used to detect the presence of a dangerous LPG leak in your car or in a service station, storage tank environment. This unit can be easily incorporated into an alarm unit, to sound an alarm or give a visual indication of the LPG concentration. The sensor has excellent sensitivity combined with a quick response time. The sensor can also sense iso-butane, propane, LNG and cigarette smoke.
