by covalent bond.

Terminology:
mer: a unit
monomer: one unit
dimer: two units
trimer: three units
tetramer: four units
Polymer: many units
Pre-polymer: growing
towards being a polymer
Oligomers=Few units fixed in size
Homo Polymer=polymer of fixed mer type
