FINGER PRINT BASED ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM
Aim:
The aim of the project is to build the fingerprint based electronic voting system.
Description:
This project “Finger Print Based Electronic Voting System” deals with giving intelligence to the existing traditional system. Persons who are authorized to vote will be assigned a number with respect to his/her finger print. The information will be processed in a manner that will protect confidentiality and in such a way that unauthorized individuals cannot retrieve it by means of computer, remote terminal or other means. In this the human identity is carried out using a Thump Impression. The unique act as human attributes and can be checked out for verification.
The Fingerprint Scanner is interfaced to the micro controller unit, which keeps track of the Identification. The scanner scans the fingerprint of the voter and compares with the database in EEPROM, if it is authentication person it will give authenticated signal to microcontroller which will display the authentication in LCD and sends an authentication number to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will control the lock and accept it depending upon the Scanner output. If any unauthorized persons try to vote, it will check the authentication for three times and the controller automatically alerts the security by blowing the buzzer. This can be implementing in real time.
Finger printing is the process of identification based on the impressions of the ends of the fingers. The impressions consist of patterns formed by ridges that cover the skin of the fingertips. Fingerprints provide one of the most reliable methods of identification. No person’s fingerprint is identical to any other human being. In most cases, fingerprints remain the same throughout any person’s lifetime. Ridges on the person’s fingerprints only change as a result of surgery, disease, or an accident.
SOFTWARE TOOLS USED:
1) Keil Compiler.
2) Express PCB/ORCAD.
HARDWARE TOOLS:
1) Micro controller.
2) MAX 232 Serial Communications.
3) Finger print scanner.
4) Power Supply 5V.
5) Buzzer.
6) LCD.
7) EEPROM.
