Fingerprint based attendance system
This project gives you a fingerprint based attendance system with 8051 microcontroller. The SM630 fingerprint module is used for fingerprint matching. It can store a max of 768 fingerprints. The admin can add/delete records from the PC through the VB application. There is an infrared LED and photo diode to sense the finger placed over the fingerprint module. All the attendance details are stored over the PC. The admin can generate reports and also he can print the reports.
Microcontroller based staff attendance system using finger print Synopsis
Basically attendance is manually done and record is maintained in files. Our main idea of approach is to reduce manual work and to automate the attendance system. It is a microcontroller based application consisting of mainly fingerprint scanner, lcd and various other features such as database maintenance in computer. As soon as the impression is given to the scanner, it cross checks it with the stored database and judgment is done by the module itself and result is sent to the microcontroller which then displays the result on the lcd screen and simultaneously updates the record maintained in the computer. Thumb impression module is the input device and microcontroller as main processing unit. Output devices are lcd and computer. Input is given through the finger scanner, input here is thumb imprint to the module, module converts it into digital data and sends it to host. Add, delete and acknowledge are the three commands which can be given to the module. Module responds to host accordingly, microcontroller on the either side would be interfaced with the computer. Database is maintained in the computer which is altered and updated by microcontroller. Microcontroller used is atmel 89s52, it is a low power high performance cmos 8 bit microcontroller with 8k bytes of flash programmable and erasable read only memory (eeprom). This is powerful microcontroller which provides a high flexible and cost effective solution to many embedded control applications.
