Thermal imaging(thermography) has evolved into one of the most valuable diagnostic tools used for predictive maintenance (PM). Thermal imaging produces non-contact infrared, or "heat" pictures from which temperature measurements can be made. From this we can detect the anomalies often invisible to the naked eye. Thus corrective action can be taken before critical system failure occurs. Portable infrared (IR) imaging systems map the systems and use them for for quantitative temperature analysis.
THERMACAM PM SYSTEMS
Simple "point andshoot" operation, state-of-the-artdetector technology, portability, and ease-of-use are the main features of thermacam systems. The other advantages include Lightweight, cordless operation and low power consumption. temperature differences as small as 0.07ËšC can be detacted by the thermacam systems. Thus the problems can be detected well in advance of a failure. When working in potentially hazardous conditions also thermacam systems can be handy.
THERMOGRAPHY APPLICATIONS
They can be used for inspecting and monitoring electrical and mechanical systems.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
loose electrical contacts offer resistance to the flow of electricity which may cause an increase in temperature which can further lead to components failure. unplanned outages and injuries can result. detecting the flaws can prevent this.
