Use of kinematic synthesis (type, dimension and number) to fabricate a physical working model of an eight-link transport mechanism. The mechanism which will be developed in its simplest form would carry out the function of transporting boxes / articles which are being fed on two rails and are moved one by one forward. The eight bar mechanism allows you to move more than one article compared to its four bar counterpart. In this project we apply the synthesis of generation of trajectories and the synthesis of coupling and study curves to make our model which is a mechanism of eight transport links. The synthesis would be Chebyschev's theorem for cognate links and parallel motion generation where we want the output link of the mechanism to follow a particular path without any rotation of the link as it moves along the path. The final model will be built by modeling in solid edge CAD software that will eliminate errors that could have infiltrated the graphic synthesis. In the actual manufacturing process the model will be refined as the latest adjustments are made by tools and processes like welding, drilling, adjusting, grinding. The model is then tested and the prescribed movement characteristics are examined.
