introduction
Automation of the irrigation systems has several positive effects. Once installed, the distribution of water in small fields or gardens easier and not to be constantly under the control of the operator. There are several solutions to design automated irrigation systems. Modern systems allow large areas of large scale, which will be managed by only one operator. Sprinkler, drip or underground drip irrigation and pumping stations require some high-tech components and if skilled operators used for large surfaces is also required. Extremely high-tech solutions are the use of GIS and satellites for automatic measurement of water content in each parcel needs crop and optimize your irrigation system. But automation irrigation can be sometimes done using simple mechanical devices: from clay or porous capsule irrigation network can or bottle of water (see also manual watering).
High-Tech Principles
Time Based System
Watch the watering time controllers or timers, the part of the year is a year full of automated drip irrigation system timer is an important instrument to apply water, in the right quantity at the right time. Timers year may result in insufficient or excessive irrigation, if they are not correctly or incorrectly programmed water quantity is calculated (CARDENAS-LAILHACAR 2006). Working time (time watering-hours per day) is calculated according to the volume of water (water consumption-liter per day), and the average water consumption (application rate-liters per hour). And the timer starts and stops the process of irrigation (RAJAKUMAR etc. 2008 IDE and York).
The system volume
The preset amount of water can be applied in automatic field segments managed volume of valves (RAJAKUMAR et al. 2008). Example for method of irrigation amount described in Objective et al. (2008).
Open Loop System
(Taken from Boman et al., 2006)
In summer the system without feedback, the operator shall decide on the amount of water that must be used and the timing of irrigation activities. the controller is programmed properly and the water is served in accordance with the schedule. Open-loop control system to use any duration or the Applied irrigation volumes for management purposes. Open loop controllers usually came with the clock that is used to start watering. Stop watering may be based on a preset time or may be specified, on the basis of the volume of water passing through the meter.
advantages
Automation eliminates the manual opening or closing of valves
The ability to change the frequency of irrigation and Fertigation processes and THESE processes for optimization
The adoption of advanced farming systems and new technologies, especially new farming systems is complex and difficult to work manually
The use of water from various sources and more efficient use of water and fertilizer
The system can work at night, water loss from evaporation is amaranth to a minimum
The irrigation process starts and stops exactly when required, amaranth, optimizing energy needs
Disadvantages
The system can be very expensive
Self help very low compatibility with large-scale systems, which are very complex
Most irrigation systems need electricity
