fabrication of automatic temperature controller with cooling system

i want to take this idea for my final year project " automatic temperature controller", but i don't know how deep control system's knowledge that it required. I studied control system just last year (one year), so I have only basic knowledge about this module.
On the other hand I’m good in heat transfer, from this perspective I’m thinking to do heat control, but again I don't know how difficult/easy going to be.
Any recommendation please!!!
Simply can I do a project only with heat transfer (without control)? And which idea could you recommend? How it’s going to affect the project if I add control system into it?
