shadow mode function on robots seminar

I am an MSc. Electronic science student in Cochin university of science and technology. i'm specializing in robotics. i wish to prepare a seminar about shadow mode function in robots. also would like to do my academic project on the same. how to implement shadow function in a robot? how to teach the robot using shadow function. using image processing how can we make the robot memorize our movements and reproduce those stored motions in future? kindly give me necessary details...
