WIRELESS LAND MINE DETECTING ROBOT
INTRODUCTION
• While diplomats work to restrict the manufacture, sale, and use of land mines worldwide, a massive cleanup effort is needed to find and destroy the estimated 100 million land mines still buried in 65 countries.
• Land mines left behind from wars worldwide are one of the century's most unsolved problems of war and remain the focus of humanitarian mine detection.
• Demines face monumental task in clearing landmines, most common method to find landmines is by metal detector, Dogs, bees, and rats can also find landmines.
• People will have to go in and still remove the landmine by hand with a prod. Process is fraught with dangers and long-term viable demining methods are needed.
• Here the landmine detection is carried out by using the robot, and the robot gives the mine information using the RF wireless communication.
EXISTING SYSTEM
Earlier the detection of landmines is done by humans through metal detectors.
They go in and remove the landmines by hand, and so there is a risk of life and sometimes loss of life may occur.
In order to avoid that risk we go for robots to find the landmines inside the land and save many of the lives.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
Microcontroller is the heart of this project which controls the robot.
Robot moves according to the input controls given by the microcontroller.
Here we are going to employ a mine detecting sensor for landmine detection.
As the robot moves, the sensor searches for mines in the war fields.
If the sensor detects any mine, it produces corresponding voltage variations, which automatically changes the state of the comparator.
The comparator gives this signal to microcontroller which in-turn gives an alert message to the remote base station via RF.
The alert message is displayed in the receiver side through LCD.
