WASTE MATERIAL MANAGEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY TO MINIMIZE POLLUTION (FULL REPORT)
OBJECTIVE
Green building (sustainable building) refers to a structure and using process that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. This practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.
Although new technologies are constantly being developed to complement current practices in creating greener structures, the common objective is that green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by:
• Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
• Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
• Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation.
MATERIALS
BAGASSE

Sugar cane bagasse is a pozzolana that can partially replace clinker in cement
production and reduces emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere. Sugar can
bagasse is an agro-industrial residue available in several countries, and it
was proved by previous comprehensive studies that its use generally improves the behavior of the cementitious construction materials.
CRUMB RUBBER
It is a fine granular or powdered rubber capable of being used to make a variety of products such as floor tiles and resilient flooring. It is recovered from scrap tires using thermal and/or mechanical processing techniques. Crumb rubber also is derived from the tire retreading process, when worn tire tread is removed during a buffing process before the new tread is affixed.
GGBF OR GROUND GRANULATED BLAST FURNACE SLAG
It is a by-product of iron blast furnaces. The slag is ground into granules finer than Portland cement and can be used as an ingredient in concrete.

RICE HUSK ASH
The ash produced after the husks have been burned, (abbreviated to RHA), is high in silica. A number of possible uses are being investigated for this. These uses include :
 aggregates and fillers for concrete and board production
 economical substitute for micro silica / silica fumes
 absorbents for oils and chemicals
 as a source of silicon
 as insulation powder in steel mills
 as repellents in the form of "vinegar-tar"
 as a release agent in the ceramics industry
 as an insulation material for homes and refrigerants
