The location of the fault in the underground cable is a somewhat cumbersome process, so to deal with this problem a method is provided in this project. To determine the location of the fault, a series resistor is used and the voltage across this resistance is measured and then sent to the microprocessor to calculate the distance at which the fault occurred. This is a safe and economical method to obtain the location of the fault in an underground cable. This method also does not have a high power requirement and is also portable.
