It is useful to maintain a constant temperature of a closed area. When the temperature increases beyond a certain value, a lamp (indicating a cooler) is turned on to bring the temperature to the normal value. As the load activation is performed automatically so this system does not require anyone to monitor the temperature in person. The negative coefficient thermistor is used together with an operational amplifier to operate the relay in case the temperature goes out of range. The thermistor is often used instead of other temperature sensors because they are inexpensive.
But most of its resistance characteristics to the temperature are highly non-linear and need correction for applications that require a linear response. A temperature change will alter the input parameters to the operational amplifier. The operational amplifier provides an output to activate the relay and turn the lamp on / off. In addition, the project can be improved by using a digital temperature sensor instead of an analog. By doing so, we can increase the accuracy of the temperature control system.
