Speech synthesis
Speech synthesis is the artificial production of human speech. A hardware system used for the purpose of speech synthesis is called a sppech synthesiser. It can be implemented in the hardware or software level. Example can be a text to speech converter(TTS) which converts the input text into the speech. Some other systems converts the input symbols or representations or phonetic symbols into speech. The pieces of recorded speech stored in a database can be concatenated to produce speech as we see in the railway station announcement system where the pieces of speech are assembled to produce a complete announcement. If the system stores phones or diphones, then the system will produce the widest range of speech but may lack clarity. entire words or sentences stored will produce the maximum clarity in the case of real world appliations.
SPEECH SYNTHESIZER IC
speech synthesizer module is a complete text-to-speech ‘talking’ module and may contain discrete units like on-board amplifier, speaker and electronic circuit which contains the text to speech processor. The phrases can be programmed and can be stored in the flash memory of the IC. The stored words can be used to produce speech output.
