INTRODUCTION
How many times were we stranded because our mobile phones ran out of battery? All of us would have experienced this at least once in our life time; at least once we would have forgotten to take our mobile phone charger or that we forgot to charge our phones and it gave up at a time when we needed it very badly. Some times even when we remembered to carry our charger we may not have been able to find a power outlet that we can use to charge our mobile phones. Endless situations like these present themselves that bar us from using our mobile phones. We have got used to our mobile phones so much and without our mobile phones we feel so handicapped.
All you need to get liberated are mobile phone solar chargers. No more dead cell phones, you can always remain connected to your loved ones, you don’t have to worry about rationing you mobile phone’s energy so that you can receive important business calls. In the beginning when telephone was invented we were limited to indoor calls and now with the invention of mobile phones we got little more free because we don’t have to be glued to our office or our home to receive and make calls.
However, there was a minor glitch with the freedom that was given by mobile phones; they had to be charged to ensure that the gadget was live. To overcome this problem, outdoor charging booths erupted. They were not good enough; they did not provide a complete solution to the problem. What we have now in the form of solar travel chargers is a complete solution and complete freedom. Sunlight is one of the easiest accessible sources of energy unless you are in Norway!
No more anxiety about missing important calls or staying connected with your office. Your solar mobile phone chargers once charged fully can hold the charge even up to a year unlike the regular batteries. That drain away even without any usage. With the easiest and free source of energy you will never need a power outlet again to charge your mobile phone. You can always stay powered with solar power chargers.
DESCRIPTION
Working of solar powered batteries

 Small photovoltaic cells or modules (groups of these cells) are displayed on a large frame and directed at the sunlight. These cells are made up of silicon semiconductors, which will absorb part of the light and convert it into energy by shaking electrons loose and allowing them to run along the semiconductor. The current then runs through the metal contacts at the top and bottom of the PV cell and can be used to power anything from a small calculator.
FIRST SOLAR PHONE
 The world’s first solar phone was launched on 17th june 2007.
 This phone was developed by Hi-Tech wealth telecommunication of China.
 The panels trickle-charge the battery in any amount of light, including indoors (or even by candlelight), and the battery life is 2.5 times longer than it would without the panels. An hour of direct sunlight will give users 40 extra minutes of talk time.
 The cost of this phone id pretty high $510.
Samsung unveils Blue Earth, a solar-powered mobile phone
 Samsung's Blue Earth handset just be takes the green thing to a whole new extreme.
 Made from recycled plastic from water bottles, the phone boast an "eco" mode for efficiently adjusting screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth usage, and an "eco walk" app built-in pedometer to tell you how much CO2 emission you've saved by walking instead of driving.
 The best part is that it's got a giant solar panel on the back that'll apparently charge it enough to make a phone call anytime the sun's peaking out.

 A COMPLETE SOLUTION TO THAT LOT OF NON RENEWABLE ENRGY WHICH IS CONSUMED IN RUNNING A MOBILE PHONE
 A MOBILE SYSTEM COMPLETELY BASED ON SOLAR ENERGY
What is a solar energy mobile system
 When we talk of a mobile system, then only mobile phone or a mobile network can not be mentioned but both of these together form a complete mobile system.
 so here is a complete mobile system which works on solar energy.
Solar energy based mobile phone
A solar based mobile phone works normally as other mobile phone while it charges up via a solar panel on the back of the phone in both sunny as well as cloudy days, apparently generating enough electric power to make a call anytime.
Advantages of solar mobile phone
These phone provide a unique user interface “to draw attention to preserving our fragile environment
These phones will be particularly useful in rural areas where there is no mains electricity
The phone can get fully charged in 8-15 hours depending on the climatic conditions. An hour of charging can yield between 5-15 minutes of talk time depending on the climatic conditions.
Solar based mobile network
This mobile network has been designed from the ground up- the hardware, software, towers and network architecture-to extend existing GSM networks into areas they could never before serve.
Description of solar based mobile network
 Its components
 Its software
 Its deployments
 Its architecture
 Its technology
Hardware of solar based network
To drive down power, cost and size we had to design our own hardware. The result — three boxes at the core:
BlueBox BTS — The low-power, low-cost BTS (Base Transceiver Station) in a box. Complete GSM Base Station functionality in a single box, including microwave backhaul. It comes in two capacities – 1 TRX and 2 TRX.
GreenBox BSC — the world’s first rural-optimized
BSC (Base Station Controller). One GreenBox™ BSC supports up to 16 BTS nodes (WorldGSM™ Rural, Road or Village sites).
OrangeBox MSC — the compact MSC (Mobile Switching Center) for rural deployments. One OrangeBox™ supports up to 6 GreenBox™ BSC nodes, serving over 10,000 subscribers
Software of solar based network
The core network is built on the MontaVista distribution of Linux. This confers the following advantages:
 Extreme stability — carrier-class uptimes
 Flexibility — choose from a wide variety of silicon and hardware
 Ubiquity — easy to find skills and resources
 Open Source — free and easily adapted
 Wide acceptance — by operators all over the world
Its deployments
It is deployed in any of three site configurations to support two different types of deployment.
The Rural Deployment — gives low cost coverage of entire rural areas by combining free-standing Rural Site Base Stations with rooftop-mounted village sites.
