Rural Landless Employment Guarantee Programme (RLEGP)

*Fund sharing:100% (Centre)
*RLEGP provide of employment guarantee to atleast one member of every landless household upto 100 days in a year.
*Wages are given according to Minimum Wages Act.
*Some part of the wages is given in the form of foodgrains on reduced prices.
*Condition of the programme is that labour cost of any project should not be less than 50% of the total expenditure.
*Out of the total expenditure 10% had been planned for SC/STs.
*In 1989-90 programme was merged with Jawahar Rozgar Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)

*Date/Year:25th December 2000
*Fund sharing: 100% (Central)
*PMGSY lies under Ministry of Rural Development.
*This Scheme seeks to provide connectivity to all unconnected habitations in the rural areas with a population of more than 500 persons through good All-weather roads by the end of the Tenth Plan.
*The District Panchayats shall be the! competent authority to select the variable best suited for the District, categories them and accord relative weightage to them and shall communicate it to all concerned.
*The Plan should be finalized by the Intermediate Panchayat. Any changes made by the Intermediate Panchayat should be separately mentioned and reasons, thereof, should be indicated.
*The Draft District Rural Roads Plan would be presented to the District Panchayat by the Chief Executive of the District Planning Committee.
*The National Rural Roads Development Agency (NRRDA) of the Ministry of Rural Development gives operational and technical support for the programme.
Nirmal Bharath Abhiyan (NBA)
*NBA is a community led total sanitation programme launched by central government in 1999.
*NBA was formerly called ‘Total Sanitation Campaign’
*The grant aided to each family under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan is Rs. 10000
*The campaigning ambassador of Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan is Vidya Balan
*The first state in India to achieve 100 percent sanitation coverage under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan - Sikkim
*The first Indian state to got Nirmal Gram Puraskar - Sikkim
*First open defecation - free district in India - Nadia (West Bengal)
*Main goal of NBA is to eradicate open defecation by 2017
Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY)

*Date / Year: 1st December 1997
*Fund sharing (Central & State): 75:25
*Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) started on 1st December 1997
*The scheme attempts to provide profitable jobs to the urban jobless and under employed and starting the self-employment ventures by the urban deprived living under the poverty line.
*It is the urban counterpart of the Swama Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY).
*The scheme which is introduced in the golden jubilee year of independence and is operational since 1st December 1997 - Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana
*The Swama Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana will have 5 particular schemes, which are named as:
(i)The Urban Self-Employment Programme (USEP)
(ii)The Urban Wage Employment Programme (UWEP)
(iii)Urban Women Self Help Programme (UWSP)
(iv)Skill Training for Employment Promotion amongst Urban Poor (STEP- UP)
(v)Urban Community Development Network (UCDN)
*Its objective is community empowerment through promoting community organisations like Neighbourhood Groups (NHGs), Neighbourhood Committees (NHCs) and Community Development Societies (CDSs)
*Nodal agency for project identification and co-ordination - CDS
*Development of Women and Children in the Urban Areas (DWCUA), which aims at helping groups of urban poor in taking up self employment ventures is an important component of SJSRY.
