Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme
*PMRY was merged with Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) with effect from 1st April 2008.


Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY)
*Prime Minister :Manmohan Singh
*During  : 11th Five Year Plan
*Date/Year : 23rd July 2010
*PMAGY was launched at 18 B.B. village in Sriganga Nagar district of Rajasthan.
*The primary objective of the PMAGY is to provide connectivity to all the eligible unconnected habitations of more than 500 persons in the rural areas (250 persons in the hilly and desert areas) by good quality all weather roads.
*This scheme is intended to carry on plans such as Bharat Nirman, PMGSY for roads water supply, housing electrification, SSA, MGNREGA, ICDS for the 44,000 villages with scheduled castes inhabitations more than 50% of the total population.
*PMAGY was launched by the Central Govt in 2010 for the development of villages having a higher ratio (over 50%) of people belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
*The main aim of this scheme is to build an Adarsh Gram (Model village) which has adequate physical and institutional infrastructure in which minimum needs of all the sections of the society are folly -met.
*Another objective of the plan is elimination of disparity between SC and other communities.


Samagra Awaas Yojana (SAY)
*Prime Minister :A.B. Vajpayee
*During :9th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year:1999 - 2000
*The scheme include activities such as construction of houses, sanitation facilities, drinking water programmes etc.


Main aim
*The main aim of SAY is to improve the quality of life of people and overall habitation in the rural areas,
*The scheme is monitored by the Ministry of Rural Development through state governments.


Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY)
*Prime Minister :A.B. Vajpayee
*During :9th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year :25th September 2001
*Fund sharing (Central & State) (In Union territories 100% centrally sponsored): 75:25
*SGRY is also known as Universal Rural Employment Programme.
*Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana is aimed at - providing gainful employment in rural areas.
*SGRY came into existence after merging with the ongoing schemes of Employment Assurance Scheme (EAS) and the Jawahar Grama Samridhi Yojana (JGSY).
*Employment Assurance Scheme (EAS) was first implemented on 2nd October 1993 in 1778 blocks located in the rough, rugged, sparsely populated areas of India.
*SGRY was implemented through the Panchayati Raj institutions.
*The main objective of this programme is to provide additional wage employment in rural areas and also food security, alongside creation of durable community, social and economic infrastructure in the rural areas.
*Assets are distributed amongst District Panchayats, Intermediate Panchayats & the Gram Panchayats in the ratio 20:30:50
*The Gram Panchayats may obtain any job with the sanction of the gram sabha according to their felt require and inside the available finances. 50% of the finance allocated for the gram panchayats are required to be used for infrastructure growth facility in SC/ST areas.
*SGRY was replaced by National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme with effect from 1st April 2008.


Valmiki Ambedkar Awaas Yojana (VAMBAY)
*Prime Minister: A.B Vajpayee
*During : 9th Five Year Plan
*Date/Year : 2nd December 2001
*Fund sharing(Central & State) : 50:50
*The VAMBAY scheme was launched at Hyderabad.
*Subsidy rate for this scheme is 50% by Central Govt, and 50% by State Government.
*VAMBAY is the first scheme meant exclusively for slum dwellers.
*‘ValmikiAmbedkar Awaaz Yojana’ (VAMBAY) Scheme is to provide or upgrade the shelter for people living below the poverty line in urban slums
*Main objective of VAMBAY is - to facilitate construction and upgradation of the dwelling units for the slum dwellers
*Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan is a component of - VAMBAY scheme
*The state’s share may consists of funds from any source in the form of subsidy or loan from Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) or any other agency.
*VAMBAY has been subsumed in Integrated Housing and slum Development Program launched on 3rd December 2005
