Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana (MGPSY)
*The Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana is an initiative that has been introduced by the Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry to create a fund for pension and insurance.
*The beneficiaries of this fund would be Indian workers who work overseas and who are in possession of ECR (Emigration Check Required) passports.
*The main objective of the MGPSY is to motivate and support the Overseas Indian Workers to make Contributions to Government for the following purposes:
->Plan and save for their Return and Resettlement (R&R)
->Plan for their grey-haired days  
->For getting life insurance as a cover against natural death that may occur during the coverage period
*Overseas Indian Workers can make contributions to the Government through MGPSY for a maximum period of 5 years or till the period they return to India, earlier of the two.
*Official partner of MGPSY is - Bank of Baroda
*The scheme is specially being launched for Blue-Collar-Indians working in UAE.
*Scheme will also provide the life insurance coverage during their work in abroad of Rs. 1 lakh.
*The scheme was withdrawn on 5th April 2017.


Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY)

*During:10th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year:2005 April 
*main aim of RGGVY is to provide proper electricity to every rural households and to offer electricity connection to every BPL families with no charge.
*Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) was launched in April 2005 especially by mixing all kinds of ongoing popular schemes.
*Under this scheme, the central government provides 90% of grant and ten percent as a loan which is provided by REC (Rural Electrification Corporation) to all state governments.
*The REC (Rural Electrification Corporation) is the main nodal working agency for this scheme.
*RGGVY has been subsumed into Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grama Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) in 2015.


Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)

*Aim of the programme is to provide access of electricity to rural households across the country.
*The scheme is implemented through the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) 
*With the launch of this scheme, earlier scheme for rural electrification viz. Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) has been subsumed in DDUGJY


National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM)
*Prime Minister :Manmohan Singh
*During :11th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year:June 2011
*National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is one of the programmes by the Indian Government that aims at removal of poverty with aims of creating and increasing opportunities for self employment amongst the villages.
*The basic idea behind the Programme is to organise the poor into SHG (Self Help Group)
*The NRLM is founded on the fundamental policy that the economically weak do have the ability and the need to get out of that category.
*The mission of NRLM is to minimize lack of wealth by empowering the poverty stricken to engage in profitable self-employment and skilful everyday wages roles.


National Rural Employment Programme (NREP)
*Prime Minister :Indira Gandhi
*During : 6th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year :1980 October
*Fund sharing (Central & State): 50:50
*The food for work programme was restructured and renamed as National Rural Employment Programme (NREP) in October 1980 and it became a regular programme from April 1981.
*In 1989 it was merged with Jawahar Rozgar  Yojana.
*IRDP (Integrated Rural Development Programme) was launched in 1978 for providing self employment and the economic and social upwardness for the poor.


Million Wells Scheme (MWS)
*Prime Minister : Rajiv Gandhi
*Launched in : 1988-89
*During : 7th Five Year plan
*Million wells scheme was launched as a sub scheme of NREP and RLEGP
*MWS merged in JRY in 1989.
*MWS was delinked from JRY and made an independent scheme from - 1st April 1996. 
*Objectives - To provide open irrigation wells, free of costs to individual, poor, small and marginal farmers, belonging to SC/ST.
*From the year 1993-94 the scope of the MWS has been enlarged to cover non SC/ST farmers who are below the poverty line and are listed in the IRDP register of the village.
